After trying to con everybody out of their money with microgames, Wario is finally returning to where he started: platforming. Nintendo and Good Feel are bringing Wario Land: Shake It! to the Wii. The game is a classic 2D sidescroller, complete with the "get to the end of the level" objective. Movement is tasked to the D-pad, but Warios special moves are mapped to the Wii remotes motion sensors. The game requires you hold the remote like an NES pad. While the gameplay specifics have yet to be revealed, it appears from the released media that moves are performed by moving the controller up and down (jumping), or from side-to-side. The picture below shows how the movements might be used over the course of the game. The game takes place in Euretopia, a world thats contained in a globe in a museum. Shei King, a pirate, locks Queen Meruful away and steals the Deru Deru no Saifu - an object that produces money when shaken. See why Wario is interested yet? Wario is enlisted by the strangely named pirate Captain Syrup, who wants this treasure for herself. She steals the globe from the museum and sends it to Wario. When the globe arrives a messenger from Euretopia begs Wario for help, and thus the adventure begins. Developer Good Feel doesnt have a track-record, so its difficult to judge how this one will turn out. Keep an eye open for more details, however, as the game releases in Japan on July 25th. |
